About Us

Tawas Area Youth Baseball & Softball was founded in 2022 in an effort to reinvigorate local interest in baseball and softball.  After participation fell in the years preceding, the league ended their affiliation with Little League and teamed up with Iosco County 4-H.  The new partnership promises to lower costs, provide greater support, and bring the game to a wider audience.

Our program is available for players as young as 3 year 6 months (by Jan 1) through the age of 14.  We support athletes in Tawas City, East Tawas, Hale, and Whittemore.  We play against teams from our own league as well as other 4-H-supported leagues in Oscoda, Alcona, and AuGres.

There are 6 dedicated board members who volunteer their time to ensure each season is as successful as possible.  We offer Coach training to encourage parents to participate in the season and to share the game with our kids.

Registration takes place in February and March, with practices starting in early April.  The season starts with an Opening Day parade for all teams and lasts until mid-June.  Teams will play 10-13 games during the season, including playoffs.
